The Good Life Growing Up

Small problems can grow into bigger problems if we don't get help to solve them.

That is why it is very important that children should be shown that asking for help from the right responsible person to understand things, isn't a big deal, and should be a normal part of life.

Lots of television programmes feature teenagers and adults who discuss their health problems, and generally they stem back to something they could have got help with early on, but were too embarrassed to ask or didn't know how to, or lacked confidence.

Understanding the importance of friendships, knowing they can talk confidentially to a teacher, school nurse or parent, for example about anything from toothache to a family bereavement is really important.
